The noble gases of group 18 dont form chemical bonds, because other than Helium, group 18 has 8 valences.Having 8 valences is very rare.Atoms that have 8 elctrons on the outer leveldont form chemical bonds. If that energy level has 8 valence electrons it is considered to be full.A atom that has less than 8 valences more likely to form bonds. All atoms form bonds by gaining, losing, and sharing elctrons.
